Why Eagles?<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Good question! Many patrols in Scouting are named after animals. At our Air Scout Troop, we use birds. We do this not only because birds fly, but also because each bird we use for our patrol names has an aircraft associated with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did You Know?<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eagles (the bird variety!) can reach speeds of up to 100 miles per hour (160 kilometers per hour) when diving for prey. Additionally, eagles have impressive wingspans, with some species, like the golden eagle, boasting wingspans of up to 7.5 feet (2.3 meters).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The F-15 Eagle<\/strong> is a highly advanced fighter aircraft. It is capable of reaching speeds of up to 1,875 miles per hour, which is classified as Mach 2. This makes it one of the fastest fighter jets in the world!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
