Hey everyone!
We’ve got some exciting news to share about the 61st Doncaster (Bentley) Air Scouts building. After over 20 years of fundraising and dreaming, our group is finally getting a brand-new building, thanks to a generous grant from the Youth Investment Fund UK funded by the UK Government! 🎉
The leaders and executive committee have been working their socks off for decades to make this dream a reality, and now it’s happening! The old Scout Hut, which served us well but was definitely showing its age, was closed for use in February 2024 and demolished at the end of August 2024. But don’t worry, our Scout groups are still meeting and having a blast at alternative accommodations while we wait for our shiny new home.
The new building is set to be completed by the end of March 2025, and it’s going to be amazing. Imagine a space big enough for all our activities, from badge work and camping skills to model plane building and flight simulations. Plus, our ground floor will be fully accessible, ensuring everyone can join in the fun.
This new hub will be a beacon for our community, providing a safe and exciting space for young people to learn, grow, and have fun. We can’t wait to see it come to life and start creating even more fantastic memories.
