Our fabulous Beavers finished the school year with exciting adventures, enjoyed a short summer break, and returned for even more fun — read on to see what they got up to!
Camp Craft in action!
On 30 June the Beavers threw themselves into Camp Craft and Challenge badge activities with huge enthusiasm. They practised pitching tents, cooked on an open fire and roasted marshmallows over the flames, sharing laughs around the fire and celebrating all the new skills they have been learning.
Be Prepared!
On 7 July the focus shifted to camping readiness, but with plenty of fun: the Beavers learned how to lay out and organise their kit so it’s ready in a flash. Taking great care to learn how to use a roll mat and make their bed to the 61st standard means these Beavers will be ready for future camps. Hopefully they use these skills at home too!
Camp Craft completed – Another badge earned!
By 14 July the Camp Craft badge was complete and the Beavers were buzzing with achievement. They built cosy bug hotels and made colourful pictures from natural finds, proudly showing off their creations and enjoying the chance to be little architects and nature artists.
Summer Holiday – our Leaders took a well-earned rest, ready to return to their volunteering in September!
Shooting for the stars (well… Archery Targets!)
The Red Kites returned on the first night back and headed straight to Squirrel Wood’s archery range. Plenty of arrows hit their marks – and a few were maybe a teeeeeny bit off – the whole group were brilliant and full of confidence!
